Amy Roberts

Rider Information:

Date of Birth: 24/12/1994

Place of Birth: Llanelli, South Wales

Disciplines: Track and Road

Rider Bio:

Amy Roberts was born on 24 December 1994 in Cardiff, Wales. Roberts has proven herself to be a very promising young talent across a number of cycling disciplines on both the track and road. As a member of the London Olympics Development Program, Amy represented Great Britain in both the 2012 World Junior Track and Road Cycling Championships. In 2013 Amy made the transition to the elite ranks on the road.

2012 was a very successful year for Roberts, which saw her collect titles at the World, European and British National Junior Track Cycling Championships. Amy was also a member of the 2012 Junior British Road World Cycling team and played an integral role in selflessly helping teammate Lucy Garner claim the World Title in Valkenburg, The Netherlands.

Over the past years on the team Amy developed into a valuable athlete for the team. Next to that she won several domestic races in the UK and in November 2014 she won the team pursuit at the Track World Cup in Mexico.

Roberts has been part of the team since its inception in 2013. The past two seasons (2015/2016) were very tough for Roberts. In 2015 she fractured her collarbone in Dwars door de Westhoek (late april) and in 2016 she catched a virus mid-season missing out almost three months of racing.  Due to the virus Roberts was forced to have some time off the bike and was not able to train at all for a while. For her it was a difficult period what was taking a lot longer than expected. After she returned into competition she was part of the winning team in both the BeNe Ladies Tour (win Jolien D’hoore) and La Course (win Chloe Hosking). 2017 will be Roberts her fifth season on the Wiggle High5 team.
