Grace Garner Blog: Reflection on August

August started off with some great hilly training in Yorkshire. I always love to train up there as there is never an easy mile. The roads are really heavy and although I might not enjoy every hill, I certainly feel great after the training has set in.

Heading out to Norway, I was nervous as it is a Women’s world tour and the standard of the WWT is increasing by each race. I was confident in my form and happy to be part of it. The team did a great job, and while I didn’t have the best time out there I really relished the chance and certainly put me in a good position to push through and carry on training for the last race of the season.

After coming home from Norway I was greeted by full time team mate and sister Lucy and her little puppy Robby (he may not be classed as a puppy at 2y/o but he still looks that cute!). It was an exciting time as she took up with her to try on wedding dresses for the first time. It was a lovely experience and also puts things into perspective. No matter the hard times in cycling, your family should always be a priority and taking time out of a busy schedule to have family time is so important.
